I apply a tin once a year after oil change to engine and I applied a tin to gearbox approx. 4 years ago. the result is my 108000 miles 2.5 tdi 1996 fiat ducato has ZERO oil leaks and in six years of ownership has NEVER required a oil seal. may be worth a try for the price of £8.00 what have you got to lose.
304. Dec 20, 2017. #20. Always change my gear oil every 100,000 miles (once a year) touch wood but not had an issue yet on 3 ducatos, have to say though the box on my Euro6 year old van does crunch in random gears and reverse is often a pig to select, it’s having its oil changed at next service. 1.
In order to replace the reverse gear switch on the Fiat Ducato, you need to open the bonnet so that you can access the components inside the engine compartment. In the upper right part of the latter there will be the air filter box, the pipes connected to it and the fuse box. All the pieces must be removed from their housing by unscrewing the
Many oils now state 'recommended where Fiat 9.55535-DS1 applies' or 'meets the specification Fiat 9.55535-DS1' but I believe that Selenia WR Forward 0w30 remains the only oil with approval to that standard (although apparently Ravenol FES 0w30 passed approval testing but Ravenol decided not to pay the licencing fees - it remains another oil
. 28. Oct 3, 2016. #3. I have just completed a full engine replacement in my 3 litre Ducato and it is just as easy to remove the motor and box all in one. As Corcai said, once you disconnect the driveshafts, it's not so bad. I have never worked on anything like this before and I wouldn't be in any hurry to repeat the experience.
Not really a problem here but someone might know the answer. My 2008 ducato had really black engine oil in it the last time i changed it. These carry 6.5 lts of oil i think but only 5 lts drained out. Put 5 back in (right on the mark)but because i think 1.5 lts of black oil remained in the

Mar 20, 2018. #8. g8rpi said: Just any garage won't do, they need the Fiat specific software. If you do your own work on the van get a copy of Multiecuscan ( MES) www.multiecuscan.net and a ELM327 to USB interface. Cheaper than one diagnostic session at a dealer. you will use it for more than a service reset.
Hi guys I have a 2017 Ducato Multijet 2.3 - 180 with Comfort Matic gearbox. I am told that the hydraulic fluid for the clutch should be changed every 2 or 3 years. I have done it in other vehicles with a clutch pedal, but I don't know how to bleed the system to replace the fluid with the Comfort Matic.
